CHATEAU
Chateau Leoville Barton was born from the division of the Domaine de Léoville in 1826, when Hugh Barton, an Irishman who already owned Chateau Langoa in Saint-Julien, bought a portion of the vineyard. Thus, a new big name is born in Bordeaux, along with two other parcels from the sale, Leoville Las Cases and Léoville Poyferré. Today, nearly two centuries later, the estate still belongs to the family Barton, an uncommon situation in Bordeaux.
The current owner, Anthony Barton, had already moved from Ireland in 1951. He had a clear interest in wine and had already plenty of experience when he took the reins of the family properties. Anthony Barton has a noble aim - to maintain the high quality of both Langoa-Barton and Léoville-Barton, to continue to produce wines in a classic St Julien style.

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc

To drink till 2030
