The properties located on the right bank of la Garonne river are sometimes microscopic in comparison with their counterparts in the Medoc. And yet, the wines that come from there know for some of them a worldwide fame. Le Pin, of recent notoriety, is one among those exception of the right bank. In 1979, the Thienpont family, which also owns Vieux Chateau Certan, acquires a small one-hectare vineyard, hitherto given by the owner, Mrs Laubie to a sharecropper. Six years later, the family will acquire a second hectare. Instead of integrating this small vineyard in the Vieux Chateau Certan (which has fourteen hectares of vines), the owners choose to exploit appart its specific terroir.
92% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc
