CHATEAU
The vineyard of Vieux Château Certan is certainly one of the oldest of Pomerol. It was probably founded during the sixteenth century. There are also traces of this vineyard during the eighteenth century, under the name of Sertan. He was for many years, considered as the best Pomerol’s wines. Then, after the Second World War, appeared the current stars of the appellation, such as Petrus…. The family Thienpont, actual owner of the field, bought the Vieux Chateau Certan during the XXth century.
Thanks to its excellent location, perfectly situated at the heart of the Pomerol plateau, on a vineyard in one piece, Vieux Chateau Certan has prestigious neighbors: Petrus, La Conseillante, l'Evangile...
